Major Press Placements
The most effective food campaigns do more than raise awareness. They change the way people think, feel and engage with food by creating experiences that are relevant, enjoyable and easy to participate in.
Commissioned by Edelman Ireland as part of Mars Food's global Ben's Beginners campaign, Aisling was brought in to translate an international brand platform into an Irish family experience. Working as the campaign's culinary expert, she developed child-friendly recipes, food education content and live cooking experiences that encouraged families to cook together, helping position the brand around confidence, connection and everyday food skills rather than simply the product itself.

The Work
The campaign was built around a simple but powerful insight: children develop a positive relationship with food when they are given the confidence, curiosity and opportunity to participate.
Aisling brought culinary expertise, food education and audience understanding to the campaign — translating a global brand ambition into experiences that felt relevant and engaging for Irish families. The focus was not simply on promoting a product, but on creating meaningful moments around food that encouraged children and parents to cook together.
Child-friendly recipes and cooking experiences were developed using Uncle Ben’s rice as the foundation, incorporating elements of food science and culinary creativity to make the kitchen a place of discovery. The approach transformed cooking from a task into an opportunity for learning, experimentation and connection.
The campaign was activated through an integrated national programme, combining food content, live demonstrations, broadcast engagement, digital storytelling and a nationwide family cooking competition. Families were invited to share their own creations, turning the audience from passive consumers into active participants in the brand story.
By bringing together culinary authority, educational insight and accessible communication, the campaign created a genuine bridge between a global food brand and everyday family life — showing how food can be used to build confidence, connection and lifelong skills.

The Results
The 2016 Uncle Ben’s Ben’s Beginners campaign successfully transformed a global brand initiative into a meaningful Irish family experience — creating engagement that went beyond traditional food marketing.
The campaign generated over 1 million digital impressions through targeted social media, influencer engagement and user-generated content using the #LookWhatWeMade platform, alongside widespread national visibility through broadcast features and press coverage.
The interactive cooking content — including child-friendly recipes, food science activities and culinary demonstrations — generated over 800,000 video views, demonstrating the appetite for content that invited families to participate rather than simply consume.
The campaign was recognised within the industry, shortlisted as a finalist at the Irish Social Media Awards for Integrated Social Media Campaign and Social Media Effectiveness.
Most importantly, Ben’s Beginners created a stronger connection between brand and consumer by positioning cooking as a shared family experience — helping children build confidence in the kitchen while showing how food brands can create relevance through genuine value, education and participation.

“My role in brand partnerships is to translate food expertise into something people can genuinely connect with. The opportunity is not simply to communicate a message — it is to create experiences that make the message meaningful.”
