Food and Beverage trend forecasting is a big part of my world for content creation and of working with my clients. Back in January on our Newtalk segment Kieran and I chatted about Tequila being lauded as one of the biggest trends in the beverage market for 2023. It’s links to wellness along with the luxurious branding and celebrity creators have brought with it great interest and excitement to the revival and reinvention of this drink.

It does not contain any artificial additives or sweeteners, which may make it a more appealing choice for people who are health-conscious or looking for a more natural option.
Low calorie: Tequila is generally lower in calories than other alcoholic beverages, such as beer or wine. A standard shot of tequila contains approximately 64 calories, compared to a 5 oz glass of wine, which can contain around 120 calories. This may make it a more attractive option for those who are watching their calorie intake.The glycemic index of tequila is assumed to be zero. Tequila contains no carbohydrates and the glycemic index measures the impact of carbohydrates on blood sugar.
Digestive benefits: Some people believe that drinking tequila can aid digestion due to the presence of agave fibre. Agave fibre has been linked to have prebiotic properties, which can help to support gut health and aid digestion. I would like to do a lot mroe research on this point before I go and consume on this basis to be honest.
Moderation: As with any alcoholic beverage, moderation is key. However, because tequila is often consumed as a shot or in a small cocktail, it may be easier to limit consumption and avoid overindulging.
