The Edit: What’s In My Christmas Food Shop
Modern living. Real food. A little luxury. A lot of Irish.
There’s something about the Christmas food shop that feels nostalgic, grounding and full of possibility. Every year I put together a calm, considered shopping list — a blend of beautiful Irish products, family-friendly favourites, and a few boujee-but-accessible treats that elevate the season without stress… or a wild grocery bill.
This is The Edit — the pieces I’ll be stocking up on this Christmas to bring flavour, ease and a touch of magic to the table.
One of my absolute essentials every Christmas is James Whelan Butchers’ Award-Winning Beef Dripping — a pure, rich, flavour-packed staple that transforms roasted potatoes, root veg, Yorkshire puddings, and even a simple festive gravy. It’s one of those “smart ingredients” that works incredibly hard for you and makes everything taste like comfort. Shop it here: https://www.jameswhelanbutchers.com/proddetail.php?prod=9965
