The Work

Designing learning experiences requires an understanding of both education and behaviour.

The programme was developed around three principles: making science engaging, supporting teachers with practical classroom resources and extending learning beyond the classroom into the home.

Age-specific experiment packs were created for different developmental stages, allowing children to discover the science of Vitamin D through hands-on activities linked directly to the primary curriculum. Teacher resources and online training made the programme simple to deliver, while live cookery demonstrations and national media activity reinforced the learning through food experiences families could enjoy together.

Every element was designed around one objective: creating an education programme that teachers valued, children remembered and parents continued at home.

Deliverables

A complete national food education programme designed from concept through to delivery, combining educational expertise, food science, behavioural insight and brand communication to create a resource that could genuinely engage children, support teachers and connect with families.

The Results

The success of Avonmore Super Science was built on a simple principle: when brands create genuine value, trust follows.

The programme gave schools something worth using, children something worth discovering and families a reason to continue the conversation at home. By combining educational integrity, food science and engaging experiences, Avonmore created a platform that connected with communities in a meaningful way.

Rather than simply communicating a message, the brand became part of the learning experience, building credibility through contribution and creating lasting relevance with children, teachers and families.

“The most powerful food education does not tell children what they should know — it creates experiences that make them curious enough to discover it themselves. When learning is practical, engaging and connected to real life, that is when understanding begins to change behaviour.”
