Designing Satisfaction™
Better-for-You Food Category Innovation

The strategic methodology behind Better-for-You food innovation, bringing together culinary excellence, nutritional density, consumer desire and commercial performance.
"The best Better for You products don't feel healthier. They simply satisfy. They make people feel better."
Aisling Larkin
The Better-For-You category is evolving rapidly. Consumers expect more than just healthier choices, they want food that delivers exceptional taste, genuine satisfaction and meaningful nutritional value.

This is where I specialise.

For more than six years, I have developed concepts, nutrient-dense products, recipes and complete food ranges designed around this one principle: creating the most satisfying and nourishing version of every product.

My expertise sits at the intersection of culinary innovation, food science, consumer behaviour and large-scale production, translating nutritional strategy into food people genuinely want to eat.

From ready meals and grab-and-go ranges to bakery, breakfast and foodservice solutions, I help brands develop products that balance flavour, satiety, nutrition, scalability and commercial viability.

As the wellness market, the GLP-1 market and ageing population reshape consumer needs, nutritional density and satiety have become critical drivers of food innovation. Every bite matters more.

With experience delivering large-scale programmes including 450+ recipe portfolios, complex reformulations and factory-to-market product development, I understand how to take food concepts from insight to successful commercial reality.
Satiety-led BFY innovation

Leading in four key areas

01

Insights

Every successful product begins with understanding. I combine global food trends, consumer behaviour, market intelligence and category insight to identify opportunities that align with changing consumer needs. From emerging health movements to evolving expectations around taste, convenience and nutrition, I translate insight into commercially relevant food concepts.
02

Design & Development

This is where culinary creativity meets technical expertise. I develop products and recipes that balance flavour, texture, nutrition and consumer appeal, creating the most satisfying version of every product. From individual recipes to complete food ranges, every concept is designed with both the consumer experience and commercial objectives in mind.
03

Optimisation

Great products are refined through precision. Through sensory evaluation, nutritional analysis, ingredient selection and reformulation, I optimise products to improve nutritional value, clean label credentials and consumer satisfaction. Whether enhancing an existing range or refining a new concept, every detail is considered to create better performing products.
04

Scale

Innovation only succeeds when it works beyond the development kitchen. I develop with commercial reality in mind, considering procurement, production capabilities, margins, operational efficiency and consistency. From factory floor challenges to large scale foodservice delivery, I ensure products are designed to succeed from concept through to implementation.
Built for

From insight to shelf. Every stage of innovation, expertly guided.

Built for organisations who know, the next generation of growth will come from creating products that satisfy deeply, not simply products with better claims.
As business models navigate changing consumer expectations, rising demand for Better for You choices is becoming all about turning nutritional ambition into products that deliver on taste, scale and commercial performance.

Built for teams who understand that successful innovation requires more than a good idea. It requires deep consumer insight, culinary expertise, technical understanding and the ability to translate opportunity into products ready for market.

Built for organisations ready to move beyond incremental innovation and create concepts and food ranges that are built for the future.

How we work together

Identifying the opportunity

Every project begins with understanding the consumer, the category and the market opportunity. Through trend analysis, consumer insight and strategic exploration, we identify where innovation can create meaningful growth.

Design & Build

Using designing thinking methodolgies, ideas are transformed into concepts, recipes and product experiences that balance taste, nutrition and consumer appeal. This is where culinary creativity meets nutritional strategy to create products people genuinely want to choose.

Iterate & Refine

Through recipe iteration, sensory evaluation, nutritional optimisation and ingredient selection, products are refined until they achieve the right balance of commerical viability, flavour, functionality and performance.

Scale for Market

Great products need to work beyond the development kitchen. I support the transition into production through manufacturing considerations, procurement, operational requirements and commercial viability, ensuring concepts are built for real world success.
